Résumé :
Economic activities contribute to the employability of populations. They help to mitigate the economic shocks faced by households. However, they are mostly carried out under unconventional conditions, which can generate garbage, wastewater, noise pollution, and air pollution that hurt the environment and the health of the population. The documentary research and field survey enabled the mapping of the city’s informal activities by measuring the level of environmental damage and pollution. The questionnaire spans take into account 301 households. The processing of the collected data yields results. The calculated Chi-square statistical test, shows a p-value of 0.006 ≤ 0.05 for the populations of modern neighborhoods where informal activities are concentrated and a p-value of 0.07 ≥ 0.05 for precarious neighborhoods. It shows respectively 59% malaria, 31% diarrhea, 45% cholera, 42% typhoid fever, 21% respiratory diseases, 38% skin pimples and acne, and 33% cough.
